Glueckert family planning endowment

The journey of the Enchanted businesses has felt like the creation of a family. In
1995 the Enchanted Room opened and twenty years later, in 2015, Enchanted Living was born across the street. These businesses have grown and evolved just like a family.

The idea of a family endowment was born with Laura Glueckert's desire to give back to our community. As she is planning her retirement, she feels that it is a perfect way for herself and her family to perpetuate scholarship funds to help an individual that is pursuing a creative-based education.

Over the last 27 years, Laura has been creating and collecting special quilts. These quilts will be for sale during an online auction, which will be announced at a later date. These funds will be the beginning of the family endowment. During Enchanted Room's 2023 Quilt Show on June 10th, there will be a display of these quilts in the beautiful courtyard of Sugarplum Jewelry at 103 N Douglas Street, which is located a block behind Enchanted Living.

Bonnie Tyro featured quilter at 2023 Quilt Show

We are gearing up for our 2023 Outdoor Quilt Show on Saturday, June 10th.  Today we want to introduce one of our Featured Quilters, Bonnie Tyro.  Below is her "quilting biography":

I grew up in Northwestern Montana with a very patient mother and grandmother who influenced my love of fabric and garment making.  Neither were quilters and I really believed I had zero interest in quilting. Until my sister convinced me to go to a log cabin quilt class 30+ years ago. I was hooked. After many log cabins and lone stars’, I began to find other options at additional quilt shops and classes and more fabrics and textures.  I couldn’t wait to start the next project.

Totally out of the blue, I was offered a sales representative position with Moda Fabrics.  It was a mid-life career change and I loved it for 15 years.  I was in quilt shops every day, explored all of Montana and met wonderful people.  A bright spot in my travels was Enchanted Room in Glendive and Laura and Myrna.

I was surprised and honored when Laura suggested I share my quilts with you.  What a great way to make new quilt friends, see what others are creating and find new inspiration!

Bonnie will be displaying several of her projects from her lifetime of quilting.  We hope to see you all the day of the show!

Terry, MT quilters to be featured at 2023 Quilt Show

The Terry Girl’s quilters, previously known as the “Die Hards”, started quilting in 1990 under the direction of Eileen Nielsen. We have been quilting every Wednesday for the last 33 years - whenever the itch gets us going, usually October through May. Some highlights we have done is Patty’s Closet, a style show featuring  quilted garments at the Glendive Quilt Show and Jane Quinn’s quilt show in Bozeman. We’ve made a Dignity Quilt for our local hospital, Quilts of Valor and the pillowcase challenge. We are proud of the beautiful display of quilts at the Prairie County Fair that we all contribute to. We always enjoy a rousing “Button Game” after a delicious potluck lunch.

Through the years we have had members that have moved, passed away, or life just got busy for them. These women are near and dear to our hearts. There’s no friend like a quilting friend!
